Acapollo

Time: Tuesdays, 5:30-7:30    Location: Graham Cornish A, Union house

It started one casual jamming session on Apollo’s fabled band camp in 2010. After successful performances in nursing homes and the following Twilight Concert, Apollo’s first a cappella group quickly became a permanent part of the Apollo family.

Acapollo is a fun but intense non- auditioned small group. In the past they have performed arrangements of pop songs including Fireflies by Owl City and MMMbop by Hanson featuring some exciting beatboxing. In 2013 Acapollo took on Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now, mash-ups of Nicky Minaj and Coldplay, and hits such as Titanium.

In the past 12 months, works have included the viral YouTube hit Beautiful Day and A Great Big World’s Say Something. Acapollo recently took out the title of ‘Best Comedy Song’ as part of the AUS-ACA A Cappella performances for their performance of ‘What Does the Fox Say’.

Eight-part harmony? Challenge accepted.
