O-Week 2016!

New Apollonians! Welcome to a life full of music, health and friends.

To the veterans, welcome back as we make this year bigger and better than any before!

We had an extremely successful stall set up at Clubs and Societies day during O-Week, and had performances from both Fusion and Jazz Band. Many people came by the stall to find out more about Apollo HMS, before signing up to join in the fun and music making.

Missed out on O-Week sign ups? Fear not!

You can also sign up when you attend one of our rehearsals, which have started this week!

Jazz Band – Relay For Life

Photography: Kevin Peterson

Living our Apollo’s aim to combine health and music, a twilight performance by Jazz Band set the mood for an evening of running at Stonnington Relay for Life on the 26th of September.

The Relay for Life aims to promote awareness of cancer, as well as giving people the opportunity to think of those who are fighting cancer currently or those who have fought with cancer.

The event in Stonnington Relay raised over $14,000, which will go towards cancer research, prevention and support programs.

Well done to the boys for a fantastic performance, and for taking the time to support such a worthy cause!

Apollo Camp – Semester Two 2015

Photography: Chye Qing Feng

Three days and two nights of playing mafia, dancing by the lake, and losing our voices from singing too much (never!) … and we’re all still alive with hoarser voices and instruments a shade more worn out.

Camp was a fantastic highlight for our second semester. A big thank you to all who made it, and all who helped out to make it a successful event. A particular mention to our social events rep Sandy and the rest of the committee.

For those who couldn’t make it this time round, there’s always next semester!

Mudfest is pretty cool, but what’s cooler than cool?

Taking the stage this Sunday will be Acapollo, Jazz Band and Fusion, it’s going to be awesome!

When: Sunday 23rd August, 5-7pm

Where: Mudclub (aka Union Lawn aka that area in between MSD and Union House)

Be there or be square. Or an ice cube. Your choice.

AUS-ACA’s 2015

On May 10, Acapollo competed in the AUS-ACA 2015 Australian A Capella Victorian Championships, and WON the Best Ensemble Award!

Acapollo trained super hard for this event, and it all paid off. Check them out in the videos below, singing an original mashup “A Sky Full of Stars Found Love” and “Counting Stars”.
